Vintage 1960s-70s Western Cowboy Handcrafted Cowhide Hair On Chinks Chaps & Vest. This is an estate sale find in Wyoming. Made by a local saddle maker leather worker back in the late 60s to early 70s. He stated that he had worn the vest occasionally but chaps were never worn. These items are made entirely by hand with no modern thread, all pieces are assembled with leather strips, even the chaps zippers are attached with leather bindings. They would make a fantastic piece of art for your western style home or cabin, framed or just hung on the wall as is. If you wanted to, you can wear them. The vest measures 19″ across the front, 17 1/2″ across the back and 20″ long. The chaps are 36″ at the waist plus the length of the buckle and insert. The legs are 24″ long. I believe these are actually chinks because of the length. The backs are brown leather with zipper closures. Lots of leather fringe.
