Concert grade Naba Sarod One Piece seasoned Tun wood

I am the original owner of this awesome right handed Maihar style sarod (Ali Akbar Khan style with 8 main pegs). This was made by Naba Kumar Kanji in late 2018 at his factory near Kolkata, India. Mr. Naba is the leading sarod maker in the world today and most of you who are either playing or learning sarod, might already know that he is the go-to person for many leading maestros and their senior disciples.
About this Sarod :
This is a used sarod played for almost 3 years, however the body, the goat skin and all pegs are in great condition. The wood polish and finish is also in excellent condition.
This is made from a well seasoned tun wood (concert quality), one piece craft which has resulted in a sound that has a warm tone, superior sustain and a very good balance in all octaves covered by the range of this instrument
The length and size of the overall sarod is based on Maihar gharana style design of the recent times and the new owner should not have any difficulty quickly adapting to this instrument.
Some modifications made on purpose : The depth of the fret board neck is thinner than usual , action is perfect (not too high as in Hemen sarod) and instead of 15 tarafs , this one only has 13. The first two tarafs closest from the chikari were avoided by design which allowed the maker to get a further deep cut before the curve towards the drum / chamber. This makes playing fast taans while switching strings much easier than the standard designs.
The Sarod is mainly designed to tune to C (normal) but can easily be tuned to C# with the same strings and we have not observed any string breakage which is common in standard designs.
About the case :
Sturdy almost new case specially made for sarod – best for flight check-ins with handles, number, locks and 2 wheels.
The padding is better than many other designs and the sarod doesn’t move once placed in the case.
There is a strap on the inner side to hold the sarod in place, to protect any slip outs if case gets accidentally opened upside down
There is an extra strap on the outside for additional protection.
This case is not rounded at the bottom unlike many others , balances well and thereby allows vertical storage
Please note a known damage – One of the number lock lever on the right side doesn’t close, but with the other number lock working and the 2 standard locks will still ensure the case won’t open if locked correctly.

As you may be aware, well seasoned tun wood, authentic bridges for concert quality sound are increasingly difficult to procure and getting expensive year over year. Also the lead times to order and get a sarod shipped from India are higher and can take 6-8 months minimum. Even if you get a brand new sarod, it will take some time for the instrument to get the tonal balance and requires a lot of patience. Therefore I have reasonably priced this instrument and hoping that someone who is an ardent fan , student / performer of sarod will be able to take further care and benefit from this instrument.
I have been learning this music for 14 years and have 2 more sarodes , so it is time to maintain the other two and pass this one on to someone deeply interested.
